Rollin' With Her Homies

Since we last posted, Olivia has learned a fancy new trick, rolling from her back to her front!  She figured out how to do it a few days ago, and since then she's been obsessed with rolling.  Every time we put her on her back, this is what we see.

This is how she starts out.

Starting the roll...

Getting her arm unstuck.

As soon as she successfully completes a roll, she is extremely pleased with herself.

Did you see that?  I was awesome!

So now on, this is the most common sight around our house, Liv stuck on her belly.  She has connected the two types of rolling, but she usually doesn't and ends up whining on her belly until someone flips her over.

We're moving this week, so our whole house is in an uproar.  Don't forget to pack Olivia!

Can I bring my toys with me?

She loves her rice cereal!  She gets very excited about eating, and it tends to show all over her face.

There she goes getting bigger and bigger every day.  Don't mind the boxes in every shot.

Bob blowing a zerbert on Olivia's belly.  She's not quite sure if she likes it or not.

Next time, we'll tell you all about the move and whether or not Olivia likes her new house.

The Four Month Checkup

It's been a really fun week with Olivia.  She spent a lot of time with family visiting for the holidays, had her 4 month checkup and immunizations, started eating rice cereal, and is helping pack for coming move.

Aunt Dione reading to Olivia - she was very concerned about how the puppy book works

Olivia loves when Uncle Chet plays the guitar for her
Olivia's well baby visit was successful and we were surprised by how much she has grown.  She is now in the 97th percentile in weight, height, and head diameter.  she weighs 16 pounds 10 oz and is 26 inches tall.

Olivia after a bath - she loves hanging out in her diaper

I think the dog just keeps getting smaller
We love when Olivia stands up - she has to clench her little bum to keep upright

She still loves being in her Bumbo but has graduated to some exciting new toys

Olivia will still not sleep without her swaddle - she loves having her arms immobilized
It was really fun to start feeding Olivia rice cereal.  She loves reaching for the spoon and the bowl.

Reaching for the entire bowl

Olivia has been belly laughing when we tickle her.  She immediately stops laughing, though, as soon as she sees the camera.  We took some covert video to share:

We'll post again the week after next.

2011, Meet Olivia

We haven't quite recovered from Christmas yet.  Olivia has stopped her two long naps during the day, instead thinking that 4-5 20 minute naps will work just as well.  It has been a struggle trying to get her to adjust her schedule, but yesterday afternoon she finally took a two-hour nap!  We're very optimistic.

She is getting really interested in playing with things.  She has really started to love her jumper, especially this frog that she will stare intently at before launching into a string of yell words at it.  "Blah Ahh Goo!"  She is very interested in her voice being heard, and has started yelling at the top of her lungs when she's really excited.  We are continually amazed that so much noise could come from such a little girl.

I see you, frog.  You can't fool me!

She's learning to stand in the jumper instead of just letting her feet dangle.

We have had lots of friends and family stop by and visit Liv during the week.  She's very popular, and people want to see her during their vacations!

Classic face: When are you going to stop taking pictures of me and pick me up?

If you note, the whole neck of her shirt is sopping wet with drool.  See the next picture for the reason why!

She has learned to blow bubbles with her spit, and boy is it messy!

If you catch her in the right mood, you can blow a raspberry at her and she will do it back.  We think the whole process is hilarious, and she gets giggling too.  She's so much fun!

Spit up!

This is what Liv looks like after a day of catnapping.

We put Olivia to bed long before midnight on New Year's Eve, but we wanted to ring in the New Year with her in a fun way.  So we put her in her new snow suit and went out into the mountains!

Trying out her new suit in the house beforehand.

It was quite cold outside, but she stayed toasty warm (though Cass had to keep wiping the drool off her face to keep it from freezing).  She had a blast, and kept jabbering and giggling the whole time.  She especially loved seeing the dogs wrestle.

This next week is a big one for Olivia Jocelyn, she turns 4 months old!  She also has a doctor's appointment and more shots. :(
